To quote Scott Cawthon, “Last year I was working at Dollar general. I worked as cashier. I had 3 bosses who were all still in high school. Before that, I worked at target in the back room freezer...I haven’t had a successful life.” This felt like a direct representation of how my life had turned out. Inspired by his story I decided to do something about it. In January 2016 I bought “Principles & Practice using C++” by Bjarne Stroustrup and applied to study a degree in Software Engineering.
Programming has brought a passion into my life I didn’t know could exist. I love that it is a never-ending journey and that there is always something new to learn. I spend most of my free time engaging in tutorials and reading programming books. Over the past three years I have developed an affinity for low-level/assembly programming and I am currently seeking to specialise in game engine programming.
